Todd was not only a great business leader, but he was a great husband, son, brother, father, and dear friend. He was married to Patti (Chic) Garlock and had 5 stepchildren. He was born on Dec. 10, 1958 in Lima, Ohio, but was raised in Findlay, Ohio. Without Todd our company would not be standing like it is today.
Todd started Todd’s Painting Service in 1980 with just one paint brush and one ladder. In 1984 Todd and his brother Mike founded Garlock Brothers Construction, where he was president/treasurer until his passing in 2018. Todd's biggest passion was being an entrepreneur. He used his talents to help mentor young entrepreneurs to get the experience necessary to start their own company. Todd also used his love for construction to help people in need through the Habitat for Humanity.
Todd loved being involved in the Hancock County Community, in 1996, he was inducted into the Small Business Hall of Fame. Todd was a member of the Findlay Noon Rotary, Hancock Chamber of Commerce, Hancock County Home Builders Association, Pheasants Forever, St. Michael the Archangel Parish and a proud sponsor of Balloon Fest in Findlay. He served on the Board of the Family Resource Center and worked closely with the Hancock County Regional Planning and Economic Development and City of Findlay Planning Commission.
Todd loved friendly conversation, being around people, and having a good time. We know that Todd is watching us from above and is proud of how the business he started over 40 years ago continues to grow and thrive. There is not a day that goes by that we do not think of him or miss his smile.
