Laborer: Little or no experience or knowledge of carpentry
Apprentice Carpenter: Starting to grasp the basic knowledge of carpentry
Experienced Carpenter: Experience in and can perform all phases of carpentry
Lead Carpenter: Experience in and can perform all phases of carpentry. Can lead others in the execution of small projects. Sometimes requires over 40 hours/week.
Superintendent: Can perform all phases of carpentry. Has the skills to supervise an entire crew. Can manage sub-contractors and a large-scale job from start to finish. Typically requires over 40 hours/week.
